  • “The Predator” will now compete in both boxing and MMA

Carl Frampton echoed the sentiment of most combat sports personalities and believed Francis Ngannou beat Tyson Fury. For “The Jackal,” “The Gypsy King” may have not expected “The Predator” to perform the way he did.

Francis boxed tremendously well for a first-timer

Speaking to TNT Sports Boxing after the fight, Frampton explained further why he thinks Ngannou upset Fury but there’s just no way people are letting a debutant beat a current world champion.

“I thought that Francis Ngannou won that fight. At times, I couldn’t believe what I was watching and I think we’ve all done it. People who were picking Tyson Fury to win this fight and win it clearly, we were doing it rationally, we were trying to think rationally,” Frampton argued.

“This is a guy in Francis Ngannou coming in to his first boxing match and fighting the heavyweight champion of the world, how was he supposed to win? In my eyes, he won the fight. I think Tyson maybe overlooked him. He struggled with his style, he was very awkward. We all thought Francis was going to come and swing. He boxed beautifully at times,” he added.

Francis will be active in both boxing and MMA

Ngannou is also confident that he beat Fury. Despite not being pleased with the outcome, Ngannou will now move on and focus on his next agenda. According to “The Predator,” his much-awaited PFL debut will be next but he thinks he could sustain competing in both boxing and MMA.

As it stands, Ngannou will be ranked by the WBC as one of the Top 10 heavyweight boxers in the world. In MMA, the former UFC champion will start anew with the PFL.
