Bellator Season 8 Lightweight Tournament Winner David Rickels Pulled Steve Austin’s Stone Cold Stunner On His Trainer After Victory Over A.J. Matthews!
Bellator 219 went down last night (March 29, 2019) at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California. In the undercard portion, Kansas native David “The Caveman” Rickels squared off against fighting veteran A.J. “The Mercenary” Matthews.
It was an entertaining match from the beginning, as David Rickels came out dressed like a WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin for the entrance! What more could a diehard fight fan want?
Both fighters went back and forth early in the first frame. Rickels rocked on a few occasions but recovered successfully and took control of the fight.
Matthews pushed Rickels on the fence in the middle of the second round, but David countered him via fantastic outside trip and took him down to the canvas. After a brutal barrage of fists, A.J. claimed he was poked to the eye, but replay showed it wasn’t a finger. Jason Herzog stopped the fight, and “The Caveman” earned a TKO win.

But the most interesting part of the whole match was Rickels’ celebration. After his hand was raised by Jason Herzog, David Rickels pulled a wrestling move, Steve Austin’s Stone Cold Stunner, on his trainer! Look at the video below.
