- Dana White vouches for another Mexican Independence Day event that would take place at The Sphere
- The UFC boss reacted to Bellator’s potential sale rumors
UFC president Dana White once again did not shy away from voicing his candid thoughts on a UFC event at The Sphere and Bellator’s potential sale.
Dana wants to do it big at The Sphere
Speaking to the media in his post-Dana White Contender Series 65 presser, the UFC boss declared that he would make sure to do a Noche UFC sequel on next year’s Mexican Impendence Day at the recently opened The Sphere at the Venetian Resort, formerly known as the MSG Sphere.
“From what I hear, the guys at MSG couldn’t have hit a bigger home run with the opening of the Sphere. First of all, the balls to open that place and do what they’re doing. Then, to come in and hit an absolute grand slam, home run with the opening. You all know I want that date. That’s what I want. I want to do Mexican Independence Day there. Imagine the show I can put on at the Sphere with Mexican Independence Day. So yeah, we’ll f**king put on an incredible show in that amazing arena for the next Mexican Independence Day. I’m very excited about it.” White teased.

Bellator is good, Showtime isn’t
When quizzed for comments about the rumored potential sale of Bellator, White admitted that he doesn’t see anything wrong if one of UFC’s biggest rival promotions continues to operate.
The UFC chief also pointed out that even Bellator’s partner broadcaster, Showtime is also being linked to the same situation. White then concluded his take by criticizing Showtime’s production quality.
“If Bellator continues to exist, it’s not a bad thing, it’s a good thing. If you look at all the sh*t we take about a lot of things, they’re owned by f**king Viacom. You know how much money these guys have? Why would they be going out of business unless they’re just tired of doing it,” White said.
“You’re hearing rumors about Showtime, too, not just Bellator,” he continued. “You know what I think of Showtime as a company, there’s no secret. Again, I could go on for days about their production on Saturday. They tried to do it better. I noticed. Showtime, I noticed you tried to do it better, but you guys suck.”

It can be recalled that Noche UFC which took place this past Mexican Independence Day was plagued by controversies following a 10-8 scorecard that resulted in a split draw of Alexa Grasso vs. Valentina Shevchenko II. Nevertheless, White is determined to do another event on the same date, seemingly wanting to give fans something epic to remember about Noche UFC this time around at The Sphere.
