On Wednesday, Perry posted an apology online, saying sorry for the rude and disrespectful words he used during the arrest.

“I am writing this to express my deepest apologies for the inappropriate and disrespectful language I used towards members of the Clermont police department. I understand that my words were hurtful and offensive, and I sincerely regret my actions,” Perry wrote on X.

“I recognize the important and often difficult work that law enforcement officers do to keep our community safe, and I truly respect the dedication and sacrifice that comes with the job. My behavior was inexcusable, and I take full responsibility for my actions,” he said.

“Please know that this incident does not reflect how I truly feel about the [Police Department/Officers], and I will make every effort to ensure this type of behavior never happens again. I hope you can accept my apology as sincere, and I will be more mindful and respectful in the future. Thank you for your time and consideration.”

Mike Perry, who had 15 fights in the UFC, started his fighting journey in 2014 and joined the UFC in 2016. At 33 years old, he left the UFC in 2021 and joined Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), where he got his career going strong again. Perry quickly became a star in BKFC, known for his aggressive fighting style and strong punches, and he hasn’t lost a fight there yet (5-0). Fans love him in BKFC. In July, he had a boxing match with Jake Paul, but Paul won in the sixth round by TKO.

Usually, we don’t expect athletes to say hurtful things, but Mike Perry has had some tough moments in his career. In the past, he’s gotten into trouble, like when he punched someone at a restaurant and used mean words about people’s race. He once said it was okay because he’s 2% Black. Perry was also accused of hurting his ex-wife, but he has denied those claims. He has since apologized for the restaurant incident.
