Gennady Golovkin Turned The Lights Out On Steve Rolls At His DAZN Debut!

Gennady Golovkin (39-1-1, 35 KOs) put his rival Steve Rolls (19-1, 10 KOs) to sleep via fourth-round KO. This was Golovkin’s first match without Abel Sanchez in his corner, which makes the victory even greater. The 37-year-old boxer needed this win so badly, and he earned in a spectacular way!

The two met in the main event of a boxing card at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. The referee was Steve Willis. It was an excellent first round for Gennady Golovkin, but Rolls landed some brutal shots and excellent counters in the second frame. It seemed for a moment Golovkin was losing control of the match.

Gennady was significantly slower in the second round, and he ate many dangerous blows, but things changed as the two entered into the third. Gennady delivered few excellent shots and he looked like a completely different man.

But he showed his real power in the fourth round!

A clean left hand landed to the inside, and Rolls went down! Despite he got back to his feet, Steve Rolls was unable to recover, and the referee Steve Willis didn’t let him continue the match. Big left hand for a knockout victory!

Final Result: Genaddy Golovkin defeats Steve Rolls via fourth-round stoppage (KO, round 4, 2:09)

After the match, “GGG” called out his big rival, Canelo Alvarez. Will we see the third bout between Golovkin and Alvarez soon?
