Believe it or not, Gina Carano still hasn’t closed the door on her MMA career. She gets asked the question a dozen times per week, and the answer isn’t “No.” Call me an optimist, but I’m willing to wait patiently beside a stage with a digital camera for her next weigh in. However long the wait, it’ll be worth it. Unfortunately, it won’t be this season as she has a new movie to promote. Gina is going to star in the next Fast & the Furious and while we’re not sure how big her role is, at the 2:29 mark of this extended preview, you can see her locking up a textbook armbar. When Ronda Rousey tweets her official approval, you know the technique is solid. Even if it wasn’t solid, we’d still go see the movie because the entire film series is a throwback to our childhood that inspired most of us to install aftermarket exhausts on our economy hatchbacks. We might not hijack trucks on the freeway with our cars, but we still live our lives a quarter mile at a time (in bumper to bumper traffic). Gina doing MMA in the film is a well-appreciated bonus.
