Sure, BJJ is the arte suave and you do need to “Keep it Playful,” but, on the other hand, it’s also this: one man physically overtaking another and achieving a dominant position over him thereby creating the opportunity for a potentially catastrophic injury causing or deadly maneuver (e.g., arm breaking). And, that’s what I’m seeing here. That’s partly (or is it mostly?) what makes it so fun.
In the end, it’s just the circle of life.
