By the time Bruce Wayne is a greyed, broken down version of his younger self in DC’s upcoming animated feature: The Dark Knight Returns part 1, he’s had years upon years of combat experience and training. By this point near the end of his timeline though, Bruce is relying more on instinct and muscle memory than his dominating strength or surprise tactics of his younger days. Now don’t get me wrong; Bruce Wayne was always a dude with impeccable technique, R’as al Ghul was a coach who would make Bruce train one move over and over until Bruce got it down. Then, and only then would R’as move on to the next Judo, Sambo or King Fu technique.
We knew Bruce had a killer RNC, but we never knew he was so adept at BJJ. Maybe it was something Bruce Wayne picked up in his later years as a way to stay in shape, like Ed O’Neil. Either way, it’s nice to see this armbar that would make Ronda Rousey proud and a kneebar that has Paul Harris flexing proudly. Check it out
Cecil Peoples had it 30-27 – mutant.
Thanks to Steve McAwesome for the find.
