- Jon Jones explained why he is rooting for Francis Ngannou but would bet on Anthony Joshua
- “Bones” thinks he would beat “The Predator” and all his potential heavyweight opponents
Jon Jones made it very clear that he likes to see Francis Ngannou beating Anthony Joshua but he is certain he could torch “The Predator” when it comes down to it.
Jon backs Francis
Speaking on air at the PFL vs. Bellator event, “Bones” was quizzed to share his thoughts on the upcoming boxing super fight between Ngannou and Joshua. As per Jones, as a fellow MMA artist, he is backing “The Predator” to win but if he is to wager on it, he’d put his money on AJ.
“I’m rooting for Francis to win, only because his story, how far he’s come in life, me being a fellow mixed martial artist. How could you not root for Francis? Francis is a wonderful stand-up person… but Anthony Joshua has been doing this since he was a young boy, and I’m the type of guy who gives respect where it’s due,” Jones explained.
“If I personally had to put my money on it, not that I gamble, I would put it on Anthony Joshua but, I am rooting for Francis… Sorry Francis,” he added.

Jon knows Francis wouldn’t stand a chance
However, Jones insisted that if it’s an MMA bout between him and Ngannou, as well as Stipe Miocic and Tom Aspinall, he definitely sees himself winning.
“I feel like there’s a lot of the fight that the world wants right now. The Tom Aspinall fight still that’s really massive, Francis Ngannou and I would be really massive, and Stipe. To the hardcore fans, it’s still a respectable opponent. I don’t know how the cards are going to fall, my prediction is I’d beat Stipe Miocic, my prediction is that I’d beat Tom Aspinall, and Francis Ngannou. So, the way that it unfolds is not really my business, my job is to do what I’ve always done since Day 1,” Jones said.
Jon Jones was asked if he’d ever fight Francis Ngannou.

Ngannou was also in attendance alongside boxing legend Mike Tyson. After hearing what “Bones” said, “The Predator” yelled:
“In your dreams! You’re f**king fat!”
Ngannou and Joshua will go toe-to-toe inside the ring on March 8. On the other hand, Jones has yet to determine a specific return date following the pectoral injury that saw him pulling out of his UFC 295 title bout with Miocic.
