Daniel Cormier will soon be able to add acting to his resume.

As announced Friday by Deadline, the recent UFC Hall of Fame inductee is set to star in a 10-episode TV drama series.

It will be based on the “Warrior” movie which is one of the more popular MMA movies out there. Gavin O’Connor will direct the TV series as he did with the movie.

Cormier would confirm the news soon after as he expressed his excitement.

““I came from Lafayette, Louisiana to the (bright) lights of the Octagon and now I take on Hollywood!” Cormier wrote on Twitter. “I teased this a while back but now it’s a reality thanks to @paramountplus and @lionsgate! I am truly honored and excited for this next chapter in my life!”

The TV series will be developed by Paramount and is currently in the process of scripts being written.

Cormier will play one of four fighters starring in the show along with Golden Globe winner Gina Rodriguez who will play another fighter. Casting for the remaining two fighters is still ongoing.

Daniel Cormier Venturing Into More Career Paths

For Cormier, this acting gig — at least one in a prominent role — will be a first. But it’s also another addition to his growing resume.

“DC” was a former UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion and only suffered defeats to Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic in his illustrious career.

Having taken a commentary position while being an active fighter, Cormier is now a full-time fixture on commentary ever since retiring from MMA in 2020.

He also serves as an an analyst and interviewer while he has his own YouTube channel and a weekly MMA show on ESPN.

Perhaps we will see him on our television screens a lot more in the future and possibly on the big screen as well.
