- Arman Tsarukyan lifted the lid on why he had to punch a fan while on his way to the cage at UFC 300
- “Ahalkalakets” sent a short but powerful message to Islam Makhachev
Arman Tsarukyan revealed why he was prompted to punch a random guy from the crowd at UFC 300 and sent a message to Islam Makhachev following his win over Charles Oliveira.
The fan went too far
Speaking to the media in his post-UFC 300 press conference, “Ahalkalakets” shared his side of the story and revealed that the fan gave him the dirty finger as he walked his way to the Octagon. As a proud Russian, Tsarukyan said what the guy did was unacceptable and he had to do what he had to do.
“He showed me ‘F**k you’ [finger] and he wanted to punch me and I wanted to punch him back,” Tsarukyan said. “That’s it. So guys, no one show me ‘F**k you.’ It doesn’t matter who you are, I’m going to punch you in the face. You can show me ‘F**k’ [finger] from like 200 meters, I’m not going to punch you. But when you’re close to me, it’s like, automatically, I’m from Russia. Don’t do that, please, or I’m going to go to prison in U.S.,” Tsarukyan explained.
A message for Islam
Stating the obvious, Tsarukyan’s split decision victory over Oliveira is by far the biggest win of his UFC career. This has led to many believing that “Ahalkalakets” already deserves to get a title shot.
When asked if he has a message for Makhachev ahead of a potential title showdown, Tsarukyan kept it short and simple.
“See you soon, boy,” he said.
As things stand, Makhachev is already set to defend his lightweight title against Dustin Poirier at UFC 302. Tsarukyan, meanwhile, will be focused on resting but has insisted that he would be glad to fight for the title next.
Tsarukyan’s win over Oliveira saw him improving his winning streak to four consecutive fights in a row.
