Carlos Condit’s ACL and meniscus were torn during a fight with Tyron Woodley over nine months ago. It was his first major injury during a 12-year career. But he had successful reconstructive surgery. And now, a grimacing Condit is excited to return to the UFC.
“I’ve gotta be cautious. I’ve really got to focus on icing and the recovery aspect of it . . .” said the confident fighter, fully prepared to re-enter the Octagon. In this video, he grabs his leg and stretches it carefully, a strained look of hope on his face. “But no, I’m good to go,” he explains.
Condit looks forward to “settling the score” with Nick Diaz sometime after the Stockton sensation fights Anderson Silva on January 31st. When the two fought in February, 2012, Condit won a unanimous three-round decision. And that was the old Condit. Now, he appears to have reinvented himself, fully recovered from life-changing surgery.
“I’m taking it easy,” he says, finally ready for his return to fighting.
