Aspen Ladd Rallies Back to Submit Karolina Sobek & Secure Spot in Playoffs – PFL 5 Results (Highlights)

Ladd survived an early scare in the opening round and rallied back to secure her spot in the Playoffs with a finish of Sobek in the closing seconds of round two

After a loss in her last outing, Aspen Ladd looked to rebound against Karolina Sobek at PFL 5.

PFL 5: Aspen Ladd vs Karolina Sobek

Round 1

Ladd comes out firing with her jabs. Sobek lands a massive punch and drops Ladd. Sobek grapples and pins her against the cage. Ladd eats a right hand. She goes for a takedown and eventually gets it by chain wrestling. Ladd takes top position. Sobek moves backwards to the cage in an attempt to get up. Ladd pressures her down. She gets back to her feet and Ladd puts her right back on the mat. Sobek up again. Ladd keeps the pressure high. Sobek reverses. They separate and Sobek gets a head kick through. Ladd takes her down again. Sobek looking to setup a triangle. Ladd is in half guard and pushing the mount. Sobek does well with a bridge but gives up her back. Ladd gets the hooks in and lands punches from the back. Sobek trying to exit from under her to the back. Ladd is a bit too high for a sub.

Round 2

They exchange jabs to open the round. Sobek keeping her range with the jab and she eats a long jab and an overhand right. Nice right hand from Sobek. Ladd lands a left hook. Ladd is on the front foot. Nice left hook from Ladd. Ladd shoots for a takedown and pins Sobek off the fence. They trade knees in the clinch. Ladd going for the high single. Sobek is doing well with the double overlooks. They separate. Nice slip from Ladd to avoid the jab. She goes to grapple against the cage again. She’s looking for a takedown and gets the high single. She passes to get in the half guard. Aspen applying good shoulder pressure trying to climb out of the guard. Sobek keeps Ladd’s head down close to her. Ladd entering quarter mount and gets full mount. Ladd is going for an armbar and she gets it.
