Following her release from the UFC recently, Aspen Ladd has already found a new home for PFL, and has her debut booked.
Aspen Ladd Slated For PFL Debut
According to a report from MMA Mania, Ladd will be facing off against ex-Bellator featherweight women’s champion Julia Budd.
The fight will go down on Nov. 25, 2022, in New York City at the 2022 PFL Championship event.
Ladd is a former UFC star who was recently released from the promotion after several weight misses. She ended her UFC run on a two-fight losing skid.
Now, the 27-year-old will debut for the Professional Fighters League (PFL) this November against a former world champion. She officially signed with PFL last week.
Speaking to MMA Mania, Ladd confirmed that, in regards to the weight issues she had at bantamweight, she’s officially moved on up to the featherweight division.
From here on out, Ladd will be competing at 145 pounds.
“I’m not gonna try it again, it’s 145 from here,” Ladd said. “The reason I was at 135 was because I was not presented with opportunities at 145 and that’s just not what they’re interested in.”
Ladd will take on Budd who recently had a three-fight win streak snapped against Genah Fabian. She was defeated via unanimous decision at PFL 3 in May.
Prior, the only women to have ever defeated Budd in mixed martial arts (MMA) competition were some of the greatest female mixed martial artists of all time – Ronda Rousey, Cris Cyborg, and Amanda Nunes.
