Is Georges St-Pierre Joining ONE Championship?

Georges St Pierre Recently Met ONE Championship CEO Chadri Sityodtong In Singapore

The former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St Pierre announced his retirement from MMA last month at a press conference in Montreal. This news comes almost 15-months after St-Pierre last fought at UFC 217, where ‘Rush’ returned to Octagon from four years of hiatus to capture the middleweight title after defeating Michael ‘The Count’ Bisping via third-round submission.

In the presser, GSP cleared the air that this would be an end of his fighting career and thanked his fans, friends, and coaches.

Last week, St-Pierre made his UFC retirement official by leaving the USADA drug-testing pool.

Before hanging up his gloves for good, St Pierre was lobbying for a super fight against UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. GSP felt that fight would further add to his legacy. But UFC had some other plans as promotion doesn’t want Rush to come of self-imposed hiatus to asked for a title fight and then abandon it as he did in the past.

Moreover, St-Pierre and White never had the best relationship especially in the wake of his quick exit from MMA back in 2013 following a split decision win over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167.

Regardless of retirement GSP recently met ONE Championship CEO in Singapore. Chadri Sityodtong posted a picture of him and GSP on social media. Does this imply that St-Pierre is heading to ONE?

Thank you to my bro Georges St-Pierre for coming to hang out in Singapore! We had an incredible 5 hour dinner together last night, and it was crazy to discover that we share so much in common. Without a doubt, he is one of the greatest mixed martial artists in history. Above all though, Georges is a true martial artist in his values, and how he lives life. A humble warrior with integrity and honor, he is a true inspiration to the world. RESPECT!!!

Moreover, in the above post, ONE CEO mentioned he had five hours of dinner with GSP, and we can assume they must have talked about some sort of lucrative business deal.

It seems like Asian based MMA promotion has a filthy amount of money and had lured former UFC champions like Eddie Alvarez, Demetrious Johnson, and Sage North Cutt to the company. Moreover, Miesha Tate also joined ONE for vice president duties.

What do you think is GSP really heading to ONE Championship?
