Yana Kunitskaya Thinks Cris Cyborg Doesn’t Have Strong knockout Power

Yana Kunitskaya doesn’t think highly of UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino and believes she doesn’t have the power to knock her out at UFC 222.

Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino defends her title against the next UFC debutant Yana Kunitskaya in the main headliner at UFC 222 on Saturday, March 3. It is great to see Cyborg finally headlining UFC events, but she has struggled to find competition in a UFC division that hardly exists.

Yana Kunitskaya, who believes former bantamweight champion Holly Holm is better at landing the one-hitter quitter. Despite the fact that Cyborg has gone undefeated for more than 11 years, Yana wasn’t too impressed with current champion’s ability to finish opponents.

“I know that she’s strong, but I don’t think she has that strong of knockout power,” Kunitskaya told MMAjunkie in a pre-fight interview. “She has no clean knockouts where girls go down, like Holly (Holm) have. But yes, she’s very tough. She finishes all the fights by technical knockout. I think I’m strong, too, strong enough to compare with her.”

“I don’t feel any pressure,” Kunitskaya said. “Everyone has weaknesses, and her last fight with Holly (Holm), it was five rounds, and it showed a lot. I was getting ready for everything and find holes everywhere – in stand-up and the ground in wrestling. I’m trying to get ready for everything.”

Cyborg is arguably one of the toughest female fighters in the sport ever. With her 19 wins, 16 of them came by way of KO/TKO, nine of those in the first round.

Yana Kunitskaya is a current Invicta bantamweight champion is coming off a win over Raquel Pa’aluhi at Invicta 25 in the bantamweight division. Kunitskaya, who many feel is just being poached and dragged up to featherweight to be another victim. She may well be another victim, but she has a serious pedigree that can test the dominant champion.

Do you think she can pull off the upset at UFC 222?
