The finish line is within reach. UFC 205 McGregor vs. Alvarez fight week is here and a giant meteor has yet to lay waste to the card or the MMA world with which we reside. On a surface level UFC 205 is historic for no other reason than that it’s the sport’s first event in New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden.
On top of the location, the UFC just unloaded its matchmaking clip all over the event. One of the most historic nights in MMA now has one of the most loaded cards in the sport’s history. To top it off the UFC went from great to holy shit with a potential history making champion versus champion main event.
UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez will close the show at UFC 205 and no matter who walks away with their hand raised the MMA world will feel the ripple effect. If McGregor chin checks Alvarez inside of one round and Mystic Mac (and his legion of fans) will never shut up about it. If Alvarez batters then chokes out McGregor inside the distance then the shine off The Notorious persona reflects a hell of a lot less bright.
