Look at Luke Rockhold over here giving Anderson Silva nothing but backhanded compliments. Rockhold is already angling for an Anderson Silva super-fight, even though he has yet to defend his belt even once. Less than two months on the job as UFC middleweight champ and Rockhold is already kind of out of contenders.
Chris Weidman just got mauled by Rockhold and immediate rematches are nine times out of ten uncalled for. Jacare Souza is coming off a loss. Yoel Romero got busted by the USADA on some drug charges. Vitor Belfort now has a dad-bod and still cannot be trusted when it comes to PEDs/TRT(s).
The allure of a Rockhold versus Spider Silva mega-fight could be the bout that makes the California champ into a legend killer or brings Silva’s career back from the dead. First, Silva has to get through Michael Bisping later this month and all signs for some ungodly reason point to Rockhold having to fight Weidman (meh) again.
Oh the passive aggressive smack talk places Rockhold could take Silva.
