  • Valentina Shevchenko appreciates that people from all over the world thinks she beat Alexa Grasso at Noche UFC
  • “Bullet” shares the same sentiment with UFC president Dana White about a trilogy fight

Former women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko was pleased to have learned that a lot of people who have tuned in on her Noche UFC title fight with Alexa Grasso thought she should’ve gotten a decision win. She is also in favor of UFC president Dana White’s confirmation of a trilogy fight with Grasso.

The people’s reaction speaks volumes about the result of the fight

In an exclusive interview with Middle Easy, “Bullet” opened up about being disappointed that she and Grasso both got their hands raised in their split draw at Noche UFC. Shevhcenko admitted that things did not play out the way she expected it but the fact that experts and people around the world suggest she should’ve won the fight makes her feel a lot better.

“I definitely saw that [White vouches for a trilogy fight] and you know it’s kind of like I’m happy that all the professionals around the world, every people, they see the truth,” Shevchenko said. “They know what results should be like. It’s kind of like I still have my hand raised up but she has the same too so kind of like not the way it should be, just one hand for me but the good thing [is] that everyone knows the truth and even it was not like decision I was hoping, it’s kind of like I still had my hand raised up and professionals who know the sport, everyone around the whole world who watched the fight, they know who the winner is in this fight.”

“I am also happy about my performance, that I put everything in the fight and I’m very happy [with] what I did in the fight,” she added.

It has to have an end

White sounded firm and certain about booking a third fight as the UFC boss thinks the crazy judging done by Mike Bell could only be fixed by a rematch. On the other hand, Shevchenko previously stated that she is not yet thinking about a trilogy match but after hearing White, “Bullet” now believes it’s the only way to put an end to it.

“Hearing that Dana, he said like it’s gonna be trilogy, it’s gonna be certified, I’m kind of like, ‘Okay’ it’s gonna happen, it’s meant to be because what people want, what people like, we have to put a clear dot to create period on this case right?,” Shevchenko concluded.

Shevchenko’s reign as the women’s flyweight queen ended after Grasso upset her with a submission win at UFC 285.  As it stands, “Bullet” clearly is interested in a rubber match but is still dealing with a hand injury. She is looking to have her surgery scheduled next week.
