UFC Winnipeg: Multiple Fighters Miss Weight And One Fight Scrapped

UFC on FOX 26 is set to take place on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Canada.

The main card will air on FOX at 8 p.m. ET while the preliminary card will be split broadcasted on FOX Sports 1 at 5 p.m. ET and the promotion’s streaming service, UFC Fight Pass, at 4 p.m. ET.

Robbie Lawler vs. Rafael dos, Anjos in a welterweight bout, will serve as the main event. However, both Tim Elliot’s opponent Pietro Menga and Ricardo Lamas’ opponent Josh Emmett didn’t make their weight. Menga could not weigh-in due to his cut already being at an unhealthy level, while Emmett just came in heavy. The fight with Lamas is still on at catchweight, but Menga will not fight Tim Elliott at Winnipeg.

Pietro Menga speaking to MMA Fighting’s Guilherme Cruz.

“I got to 131-pounds and the doctors wouldn’t let me continue cutting weight due to health risks. [Tim Elliott] was offered the fight still with weight difference and declined. [I am] devastated. I wanted to get back in the bath to try and cut more. Going to hospital for checks.”
