Strolling through the GIFs Tony Ferguson posts on Twitter is long inside the mind of the UFC’s best lightweight. There is a whole other world and story into the social media strategy of the most violent lightweight in the game.

With apologies to Khabib Nurmagomedov, Dustin Poirier, and Conor McGregor, MiddleEasy is now Team Ferg.

MMA is all about the hypothetical. There is no official playoffs in MMA. Hell, the UFC has pretty much banned tournaments all together because they absolutely hate giving up an ounce of control.

For now MMA fans know a few things about the current 155 pound standings. Khabib has a belt. Dustin has a belt. Tony is a tough match-up for anyone in the division. And Conor is super rich.

Per Dana White this is now the logic that goes into the UFC mapping out their divisions. Meh, that dude got money, so why bother? If you need more proof that D. White is pretty much phoning it in at this point, here’s a new interview.

Via LVSportsBiz Guerrilla Cross Radio, yes that is really the name of the show, here is White really talking like a dude who knows he has a 10 year deal in the bag.

“Khabib is fighting Dustin Poirier in Abu Dhabi in September. Then I don’t know, we’ll see. Tony Ferguson just came off a great win this weekend over ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, and I’m assuming he’s next.”

“We’ll see what happens with Conor – what Conor wants to do. Conor is super rich. It’s hard to get guys to fight when they’re super rich.”

One of the best things about this quote is White talking like he is in fact not also a super rich human. After selling off his percentage of the UFC plus whatever new money he’s currently making, it has to push White’s net worth near 500 million bones.

Tony Ferguson needs money, the blood of his enemies, and belts, let’s see how much of all three he can get in 2019.
