TJ Dillashaw Knocks Out Cody Garbrandt To Retain The Title
We are here at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California for the live coverage of main-headliner where TJ Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt fight for the second time.
In the rematch, Dillashaw got the job done in the first round, as in their first encounter, Dillashaw scored a second-round knockout win over Garbrandt to secure the strap back in Nov. 2017 at UFC 217.
In the opening frame, Garbrandt was precise and dropped his former teammate Dillashaw with a right hand. But ‘No Love’ promptly get back for the kill, Dillashaw got back to his feet, and immediately retaliate by dropping Garbrandt in return.
Garbrandt escapes that one. But the end was near as Dillashaw went full speed with punches from all different angles, Garbrandt stands against the cage to catch his breath, but the attack was relentless. Dillashaw landed a big knee to the clinch then went back to punching, and referee Herb Dean stepped in to waved things off.
Garbrandt lost his second bout with Dillashaw, leaving him with a long path back to earn the title shot again.
