Trilogies, whether it be in movies, video games or in sports, they will be synonymous with entertainment. Three is just the perfect amount, have three eggs in the morning, three peanut butter cups after dinner and shower every three days. It’s just the way of the world, things in threes are better than every other number. It’s a proven fact, I saw it on Cosmos. Why do you think the greatest NASCAR driver ever, Dale Earnhardt used that number? Exactly.
If there’s one trilogy in MMA today that is worthy of being do, it’s Chandler vs. Alvarez. It’s hard to think of a trilogy that’s better, or will be better. Even if the third fight is a dud. In terms of just how good the fights themselves are, it’s the best ever in my humble opinion. Sure there are ones that mean more and hold more significance, such as Randy vs. Chuck but let’s be honest, those fights aren’t nearly as good as Chandler vs. Alvarez, not even close.
