The world is full of unfairness and inequality. The haves and the have nots. Here’s a perfect example: some of us have Showtime, and others are too broke or cheap and so they don’t. The consequence of such a failing is simple – you didn’t get to watch Roger Gracie, now fully infused with the power of Blackhouse, dominating Keither Jardine for 3 straight rounds in a morbidly bloody battle. Other people got beaten up too. It was really fun. You should have been there.
Here’s the news – Roger Gracie, arguably the greatest and definitively the most dominant competitive grappler of this era fought in Strikeforce this past Saturday after over 10 months off. And he looked good. Not great. But, very good and seemingly much improved. He’s fighting as a middleweight now and was apparently affected by a last minute cut. Still, you could see he’s gained some much needed standup and ground and pound skills since his move to train in Los Angeles with Blackhouse. And, at the end of the day, he showed grit, looked confident and won. [A note to the naysayers who might devalue a victory over Jardine: it’s true Keith’s by no means in his prime and may be considered a gatekeeper at this point, but Roger impressed us nonetheless.]
