Anderson Silva has verbally agreed to fight comedian and Hollywood actor Terry Crews on June 15 in Brazil.
Silva accepted Terry’s challenge
The former longtime UFC middleweight champion probably did not expect to receive a callout from an unlikely challenger in Crews. The actor boldly issued the challenge to Silva on social media and even specified a date and location for the proposed fight.
“Anderson Silva, I’ve been training, I’m ready. June 15th. I will see you at fight night in Brazil, ya’ll. June 15th. Let’s Go. Anderson Silva, me and you. Let’s make it happen,” Crews said in the video.
Known for not backing down from any challenge, “Spider” swiftly responded with, “See you June 15.”
It could be Anderson’s final fight
As it turns out, Silva indeed, is believed to be making another combat sports return next month. There’s not much available details about it at this point but from the looks of it, the UFC legend is taking on Crews. It is also said to be the final fight of Silva’s legendary career.
While MMA fans are well aware of Silva’s legacy, many are unfamiliar with Crews’ sporting career. Crews found his lane in acting and comedy but he used to be an NFL player back in the 90s.
Crews was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in 1991 and also played for the Packers, Chargers, and the Commanders (former the Redskins) before officially calling it quits in 1997.
Silva last fought in October 2022 when he suffered a decision loss to Jake Paul in a boxing match. The Brazilian officially retired in 2020 following a TKO loss to Uriah Hall at UFC Vegas 12.
