Controversial contender Sean Strickland defends his top ranking against divisional dark horse Abus Magomedov. ‘Tarzan’ tries to swing his way to two wins in a row while Magomedov looks to one-up his impressive 19-second performance in his promotional debut last September.

Round 1:
Magomedov lands a couple of teep kicks. Magomedov fires a leg kick and follows it up with an accident eye poke on Strickland which stops the fight momentarily. Strickland paces around, wiping his eye with a towel repeatedly. Magomedov throw a headkick and a leg kick. Magomedov misses big on his punches coming into range. Magomedov clips Strickland with a left hook. Magomedov punches the body of Strickland. Strickland eats multiple leg kicks. Magomedov hits Strickland with s cross. Strickland gets in Magomedov’s face with punches. Magomedov throws a deep kick and gets a headkick on him. Magomedov takes down Strickland but he gets back up. Magomedov continues attacking the body of Strickland. Strickland works his jab. Magomedov fires a counter left hand.

Round 2:
Strickland jabs and cracks Magomedov with a hard right hand. Strickland pressures Magomedov against the cage, hunting his prey. Stricklands pieces up Magomedov with combos. Strickland catches Magomedov with jabs and crosses over and over again. Magomedov returns with a jab. Strickland continues the onslaught, tagging him with punches. Strickland throws bombs on the feet. Magomedov hits Strickland with a beautiful body punch. Strickland doesn’t cut Magomedov a break as he swarms him on the feet and puts the Russian down to the ground. Strickland pours on major ground and pound to finish the fight.
