Sean O’Malley Returns Against Jose Quinonez At UFC 229

Undefeated bantamweight contender Sean O’Malley announced his return on Monday at ESPN’s Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show against 28-year-old Jose Quinonez at UFC 229 on October 6 in Las Vegas.

The 23-year-old O’Malley who is 10-0 overall in MMA, first catches the attention of UFC fans when he scores the knockout win over Alfred Khashakyan on a Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Card back in July 2017. Since then this prospect has gone 2-0 in UFC.

‘Suga’ has been on a sideline due to a foot injury which he suffered during his fight of the night decision win over Andre Soukhamthath at UFC 222 back in March. O’Malley underwent surgery to fix the issue, and now he’s cleared to return to Octagon.

Quinonez, who is riding on a four-fight winning streak in UFC that stretches back to 2015. He drops a decision to Alejandro Perez in The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): Latin America finale back in 2014. Since then he rattles up four wins over the likes of Leonardo Morales, Joey Gomez, Diego Rivas, and Teruto Ishihara.

UFC 229 is set to take place on October 6 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will headline by undefeated current lightweight champion Khabib Numagomedov and dual-division champion Conor Mcgregor.
