The fiery feud between Sean O’Malley and Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera rages on.

On Saturday, March 9, ‘Sugar’ successfully defended his bantamweight title for the first time, scoring a dominant decision victory over Vera in the UFC 299 headliner.

With their series officially tied at 1-1, we likely haven’t seen the last of their fierce rivalry, especially after Vera accused O’Malley of “greasing” his hair ahead of their long-awaited rematch.

“I don’t get the whole Chito thing,” O’Malley said during a recent episode of the TimboSugarShow podcast. Everyone seems to love this dude. The motherf*cker is a fake-a** b*tch. Chito sucks. F*ck him. I know sh*t that people don’t know that would change their minds on him, but I’m not gonna go out there and post it. The DM sh*t was real. I was in his f*cking head. I was his brain. I was thinking for him. F*ck that guy.

“Then he comes out saying I’m greasing my hair. You didn’t even get close enough to smell my hair, let alone… What was grease in my hair going to do?”

Sean O’Malley Responds to Claims That He’s Ducking Merab Dvalishvili

Immediately following his win over ‘Chito’ Vera, O’Malley called for a champion vs. champion clash with newly minted featherweight titleholder Ilia Topuria. The callout was immediately met with backlash from fight fans. An understandable response considering O’Malley has only defended the 135-pound crown once and has a clear-cut contender to deal with in No. 1 ranked Merab Dvalishvili.

O’Malley has since reversed himself, declaring that a fight with ‘The Machine’ would be next.

“I’m going to the UFC in a week or so to talk to them and figure out what’s next. It’s so crazy that people think I’m ducking Merab, but I’m calling out Ilia. I get Merab’s [on a winning streak], but Ilia is scary. Merab is a dangerous fight. He could very well f*cking beat me. Anybody could beat me. Chito could have beat me. Ilia could beat me. But I just close my eyes and I cannot wait to see Merab standing across from me.

“Seeing Aljo frowning in the corner. Seeing Matt Serra and they’re just like, ‘F*ck, it’s about to happen again.’ I can’t wait for that sh*t.”

Merab Dvalishvili is currently on a 10-fight win streak with his most recent win coming against former two-division champion Henry Cejudo at UFC 298.
