Brady believes he will prove to be too much for "Remember The Name" to overcome in their fight at UFC 280

Sean Brady is confident he will dominate Belal Muhammad in their upcoming fight at UFC 280.

Brady will take on top-five-ranked contender Muhammad this Saturday at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The 29-year-old Philadelphia native is currently undefeated in his five showings under the UFC banner and will face his most formidable opponent yet. Muhammad goes into the bout looking to extend his eight-fight unbeaten run and hand Brady the first loss of his professional career.

Sean Brady says Belal Muhammad doesn’t know what he’s in for

At Wednesday’s UFC 280 pre-fight press conference, Brady backed himself to be a better grappler than Muhammad and dismissed his adversary’s record.

“It’s a good run, don’t get me wrong,” Brady said (transcribed by MMA Junkie). “But even if you look at the grappler that he fought, Demian Maia, Demian Maia is a jiu-jitsu guy. He’s not a grappler. He’s never been good at takedowns; his takedown accuracy was like 23 percent. The dude was pulling guard and scooting towards people.”

“Belal’s good. He’s good at what he does. But I just think I’m better at what he does, and I think they just made some tactical mistakes that I’m not gonna make.”

Brady compared himself to Khabib Nurmagomedov

Brady expressed his point by comparing himself to former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, who retired without a blemish on his glittering resume.

“I’m a different animal of taking people down and controlling them and ground and pound and submissions, and I feel like it’s gonna be a lot different. It’s gonna be something he’s never experienced before. Just like people talk about what Khabib feels like, you don’t know until you feel it. These guys don’t know. Until I grab them, they’re not gonna know what they’re in for.”

Khabib will reportedly be in Muhammad’s corner for the fight. However, it’s clear Brady is not short on confidence and believes he will strengthen his case for a title shot with a win.
