UFC lightweight Renato Moicano isn’t sold on Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler actually taking place.

McGregor and Chandler served as opposing coaches during season 31 of “The Ultimate Fighter.” While it made sense for the UFC to want to book the fight before the end of 2023, McGregor missed the window to re-enter in the USADA testing pool in order to compete this year. It’s led many to speculate whether or not the “Notorious” one will ever step back inside the Octagon.

Renato Moicano Doubts McGregor vs. Chandler Happens

During an appearance on “The MMA Hour,” Moicano explained to Ariel Helwani why he doesn’t believe “crazy” McGregor will ever fight Chandler, and will perhaps walk away from competition altogether.

“I don’t think so, first, USADA,” Moicano said. “We don’t even know when he’s going to [re-enter the testing pool].  To be honest with you, if you look to the social media, Conor McGregor is going full crazy everyday. I think he got so big that his ego just messed him up because you could see Conor was always cocky, but he was trying to talk real. Even in the Jose Aldo fight and the old fights, but right now he’s just a mess and I don’t think he’s going to fight ever. I could be wrong, of course, this is just my opinion. I don’t know nothing about Conor McGregor’s life, but I think even if Chandler waits like let’s say six months to one year for [the McGregor fight] and that fight doesn’t happen, he’s going to waste precious time because he’s old.”

Moicano also called Michael Chandler “delusional” for waiting on someone who he believes is quite far gone when it comes to the fight world.

“I don’t know, Conor is on another level of craziness right now,” Moicano said.

Here’s the second clip of Moicano on McGregor’s behavior outside the Octagon.
