Paddy Pimblett has spoken on his heated altercation with Ilia Topuria.
The two UFC fighters would get into a tussle while checking into the UFC hotel in London. The altercation would come after months of trash talk between each other.
Topuria would walk up on Pimblett and it became quite the scene from there. Pimblett would throw a bottle of hand sanitizer at Topuria who was nearing him and Topuria would attempt a right hook before knocking down Pimblett’s food. The featherweight was then separated from ‘The Baddy’ following this.
Paddy Tells All
Pimblett would tell his side of the story in a recent interview.
“It wasn’t even a scuffle, lad,” Pimblett said to Robbie Fox. “He come over and saw me on my own. I just warmed me food up. I was pissed off after it, to be honest. After all the commotion, he tried to throw me food at me. There was just eggs all over the floor. I was fuming that I missed out on my eggs… I was fuming over me eggs.
The Exchange
Of course, eggs wasn’t the only thing Paddy had his mind on. Pimblett would talk about Topuria’s team of 6 or so people who he brought with him. He’d also dive into his exchange with ‘The Matador’.
“He come out of a room with six of his boys, all of his cornermen and all of his other people. He looked at me so I stared at him. Obviously, he was chatting sh*t the other week on Twitter. I stared at him and said ‘what?’ He walked towards me and might have said something in Spanish, I don’t know, I don’t understand Spanish. As he got closer, [I] said ‘what, what’s happening lad?’ Then, he walked towards me and [waved] his hand. So obviously I took that as him trying to do something, so I stepped back and got a hand sanitizer [bottle] and bounced it off his head.
“He then tries to throw a right hook at me and I step back away out from that. Then, he tries to throw me eggs at me. I move me head out the way of it… All commotion, it was funny because there’s a table in front of us. If he wanted to do something, he would’ve ran around the table and hit me. But, he didn’t really want to do that. He knew full well, he hasn’t got the balls to do anything.”
‘I Stood Me Ground’
Paddy would continue.
“Made him sh*t himself, lad. That’s where the video carries on and I’m saying ‘what, you little maggot? Do something about it, you little fart. And he goes, ‘you little b*tch.’ Saying he’s getting pulled away, when he’s not really getting pulled away.
“If he wanted to do something, he could have. I stood me ground with six men staring sat me saying ‘what?’ Come and do something. And not one of them done a thing.”
Funny enough, Paddy Pimblett isn’t even fighting Ilia Topuria this weekend. The British star will take on Kazula Vargas at UFC London on Saturday.
