K-1 took a gamble in the US yesterday, staging Open Tryouts for anyone daring enough to make their way to Muscle Beach on a hot Thursday afternoon and strut their stuff in front of some of the more influential people in the Kickboxing world. The turnout was a staggering 200 hopefuls, all looking for their chance at fame and glory within the K-1 ring. If anything it can be looked upon as a forging of the Kickboxing community in the United States and providing hope to those who felt there was no community to be involved with.
