No. 6 ranked UFC middleweight Paulo Costa called out social media influencer Brian Johnson, better known by his online persona Liver King.
Paulo Costa got back into the win column at UFC 278 when he met the returning Luke Rockhold. As absurd as it was entertaining, the August showdown between the two had fans talking long after the final horn sounded. Earning a unanimous decision victory, ‘The Eraser’ got back into the win column after a two-fight skid against middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and Martin Vettori. Prior to the back-to-back losses, Costa had 10-straight wins dating back to 2014.
Costa is ready for his next challenge, but he’s not looking to another UFC fighter in his latest call-out. The Brazilian behemoth called out Liver King on Instagram, challenging him to a competition of some sort.
“What’s up Liver King? What the f*ck, where you at? I’m here in my house, Las Vegas,” Costa said. “Look at these abs, better than yours. Where are you at? Are you hiding? I’m waiting for you for the competition. I will beat you Liver King.”
Liver King Responds to Paulo Costa Call Out
It didn’t take long for Liver King to respond to Paulo Costa’s Instagram post, letting the former UFC title challenger know that he’s more than welcome to join the “evolutionary hunter” in his cave.
“Liver King flew to your house last week,” King said. “Searched for you at 3 different fight events… but you were nowhere to be found … when you’re ready, I’ll be waiting in my cave… with Liver and a whole feast – LK (the undisputed champion) out!”
Liver King is a UFC fan who has attended multiple events including this year’s International Fight Week in July. It’s not exactly clear why Paulo Costa opted to call out Liver King, but speculation is that it’s purely for entertainment.
Living an unconventional lifestyle and presenting a jacked physique have led Liver King to become one of the most influential fitness influencers. In the course of his daily routine, he practices nine tenets of ancestral living that he uses to lead a healthy lifestyle. He is a huge advocate of eating raw meat, and the 45-year-old does not mind sharing his raw meat diet with his followers in order to stay true to what he preaches. It is Johnson’s belief that by adopting these tenets of life, it is possible for people to observe their “highest and most dominant form in life”.
