Let’s never forget that Pat Miletich is one of the few men to be able to say that they won a UFC tournament and held a UFC title for an extended length of time. In fact, a decade ago people were declaring Pat the GOAT on the back of his (unprecedented for the time) 4 UFC title defenses. A record that would stand for years until his pupil Matt Hughes broke it. Adding his own personal glory to the mile long resume of champions that have blossomed under his tutelage, plus a commentary career that is fast becoming a fan favorite, an argument could be made for Miletich as one of the most important figures in our sport ever.
Butt kissing of a legend aside (is it butt kissing if you just list off accomplishments?), when the Croatian talks, you best listen. Coach Miletich hopped on ESPN radio and gave his 2 cents on Tito jumping into the main event slot against Rashad Evans and the upcoming Fedor/Hendo match.
