Ovince St. Preux defeats Gian Villante by way of Kevin Mulhall at UFC 159

By the end of today someone will grab a picture of referee Kevin Mulhall and make an ‘LOL WHUT’ meme of it.

If you’re not sure what happened on tonight’s UFC 159 bout against OSP and Gian Villante then don’t worry, no one quite knows what happened. The only thing we really remember is Ovince St. Preux giving Villante an unintentional eye poke and then Kevin Mulhall called the entire bout off due to…something mysterious. Actually Villante said that he ‘couldn’t see’ before Mulhall even asked him a question in an attempt to denote that he was indeed poked in the eye and not wobbled from a punch. Mulhall took this for a verbal concession and the entire fight (that could have easily headlined a Strikeforce Challengers card) was called off granting OSP a rare technical majority decision.

Bummer for Gian, who also happens to be Chris Weidman’s training partner. Hopefully in his fight against Anderson Silva, Weidman will keep the condition of his eye sight out of the fight.
