Oscar De La Hoya couldn’t help, but chime in on the recent controversy surrounding UFC president Dana White.

White is currently under fire from much of the MMA community for an altercation that was filmed and obtained by TMZ where the fight boss can be seen slapping his wife at a nightclub. White has already delivered a lengthy apology for the incident and his wife came to his defense, claiming it is the first time he had gotten physical with her after nearly three decades of marriage. That didn’t stop everyone from speaking out on the situation with many condemning Dana White’s actions, though a select few have chosen to support him.

White will get no such support from boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya who took to Twitter to take a dig at the UFC president.

“My good friend [Dana White] is so greedy he decided to steal fighter pay from his new league on TBS ‘Power Slap’ by getting fighter of the night against his WIFE,” De La Hoya tweeted. “Those Boston aerobic instructors are real tough guys.”

There is certainly no love lost between White and De La Hoya as the two have delivered verbal jabs at one another for years with White typically referring to the retired boxing icon as a “coke head.” Things seemed to really heat up between the pair following UFC 266 when De La Hoya criticized Alexander Volkanovski’s fight purse after successfully defending the featherweight title against Brian Ortega. Dana White responded in true Dana White fashion.

“STFU U crack head. Faking that u had Covid and robbing me of watching u get KTFO by @vitorbelfort you should win an academy award for your hospital performance.”

The two continued to go after one another, but in April, De La Hoya issued an apology to White and shared his desire to “fix things up” with the UFC president. White accepted the apology but made it clear that the two men would likely never become friends. With White unwilling to patch things up, it appears that the gloves are off once again between the two fight promoters.
