So we go from a 90 second KO finish on the first UFC on Fox card, to eleven rounds of fighting on FOX. That’s fifty five minutes of fighting to be exact. You know what? Sometimes these things happen in MMA.
The first two rounds ended with Rashad putting Phil Davis and his impressive lats in what could of been fight finishing crucifixes, but somehow Phil Davis was able to use his explosive abilities to wrangle out of trouble. But with every kick or shot by Phil, Rashad had an answer, physically dominating Mr. Wonderful who looked outclassed by Rashad in every way. Seriously athletic stuff. It seemed like somewhere in the middle of the fight Phil Davis went blind or something, but he recovered and the fight continued on in earnest. Minutes later, a tired but satisfied Rashad Evans is declared the winner by unanimous decision.
So now, unless something weird happens (which I will never count out if Rashad is in the equation), on April 21st in Atlanta, Bones Jones will finally have to answer for all of his jacking of Rashad’s swagger. Finally. Props to Heavy MMA for the picture.
