Ngannou Reacts To Speculation Of Him Going To The PFL
There was much speculation that the former UFC Heavyweight Champion’s first stop as a free agent would be at MMA’s million-dollar league. This came after Ngannou’s mother was spotted in a PFL shirt earlier this month.
Like what he’s done to a number of opponents, Ngannou would put these promotional rumors to sleep.
“You won’t believe me, I didn’t even notice that she had a PFL shirt on,” Ngannou said on The MMA Hour. “I didn’t even know where she had gotten that t-shirt from. I swear to God.
“I just find out on social media, [that there was] some sort of speculation and I’m like damn, what’s going on? [laughs] I didn’t know at all. That was like random, completely random.”
‘A Complete Coincidence’
Ngannou’s post of his mom wearing the PFL shirt came just days before his eventual release from the UFC and freedom as a new free agent. ‘The Predator’ says it was merely a coincidence, but admits the PFL is on a shortlist of options he can choose from.
“It was a complete coincidence,” Ngannou continued. “Although, PFL is also an option. That was a complete coincidence.”
While the PFL is definitely an option, it looks like Francis Ngannou will take his talents to the boxing ring in his next fight sometime before July, he confirmed on The MMA Hour.
