Wow. Just, wow. If you didn’t enjoy the hell out of that Strikeforce welterweight title fight, you’re sadly jaded, my friend. That was awesome. Tyron Woodley did not come to grapple, he came to friggin’ fight, and after four rounds the dust settles and Nate Marquardt is your new Strikeforce welterweight champion. Whoa!
I can’t even count how many times the fight went back and forth. Both fighters rocked each other, with rounds going to both dudes – ultimately Nate Marquardt weathered down T-Wood with superior ring savvy and an accurate standup attack. Then, the fourth round came, and Marquardt knocked out T-Wood with one of the most brilliant combinations of the year, it seriously looked like a videogame. Let’s say it again – WOW.
The Strikeforce welterweight title is cursed with awesome fights.
