- Dan Miragliotta is under fire after being the only judge to give all three rounds to Maycee Barber in her fight against Andrea Lee at UFC San Antonio
- The UFC referee’s score saw “The Future” getting the split decision win
Dan Miragliotta has become a hot subject of discussion in the sport for the wrong reasons. Many believe that the veteran UFC referee did a terrible job in judging a UFC San Antonio bout after favoring Maycee Barber over Andrea Lee in all three rounds.
A wild scoring
Based on the official scorecards, One judge scored the fight 29-28 in favor of Barber, while the other had it 29-28 in favor of Lee. As for Miragliotta, he was the only one who scored the bout 30-27, all in favor of “The Future.”

A massive backlash
In all fairness, the fight was close and everybody knew it was hard to score each and every round. However, what the majority of the MMA community was fuming about was the fact that in Miragliotta’s scorecard, Barber dominated Lee for 15 minutes.
Miragliotta’s score was crucial as it wound up becoming the determinant of the winner. Obviously, the split decision win was handed to Barber.
As expected, a mix of UFC fighters, personalities, and fans heavily criticized Miragliotta on social media.

Can someone get Dan Miragliotta away from judging? And away from refereeing while they’re at it. #UFCSanAntonio

The controversial win saw Barber extending her unbeaten UFC run to four fights in a row. On the other hand, Lee suffered her second consecutive loss, having lost to Viviane Araujo in the fight prior.
As for Miragliotta, it’s still a bit shocking as he is no rookie in judging UFC fights. In fact, he had been judging in various UFC events for years.
