Michael Chandler might say no for the title shot if Conor McGregor will finally be healthy and committed.

It’s still on

Shortly after UFC 303, “Iron” revealed on social media that the UFC has offered him a lightweight title shot in October this year. While that sounds enticing, Chandler insists that he would still prioritize a showdown with “Notorious,” especially if McGregor will be ready by September.

“I’ve been offered @MAKHACHEVMMA in October – but if @TheNotoriousMMA little pinky toe is ready by Sept, let’s do sphere. Biggest sporting event in history of sports!!!! @RiyadhSeason #ufc306,” Chandler wrote on X.

Michael pokes Islam

As early as now, Chandler has already begun poking Islam Makhachev on social media by slight the reigning lightweight champion’s Sambo background.

“Good old fashioned passionate American @MizzouWrestling beats sambo all day. @MAKHACHEVMMA,” Chandler wrote in another post.

Chandler’s taunt did not go unnoticed. As expected, Makhachev hit back at “Iron” with a fierce response.

“You are unreliable dude, one tweet from your master, and you’ll run away,” Makhachev replied. “Champ needs real opponent.”

Chandler was supposed to headline UFC 303 against McGregor. Everything was going well until “Notorious” injured his foot leading up to the event. From the look it, Chandler is still very interested in taking on McGregor despite the unfortunate setback.
