- Conor McGregor and a number of UFC stars were stunned by Alex Pereira’s KO win over Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303
- “Poatan” is planning to fight again before the current year concludes
Alex Pereira got Conor McGregor and other UFC stars going berserk with his nasty knockout win over Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303.
Head kick from hell
Despite taking the fight on short notice, “Poatan” still delivered and successfully defended his light heavyweight title against “BJP.” As expected, Pereira’s striking prevailed as he dropped Prochazka with a left hook just before the opening round ended.
Having smelled blood, Pereira picked up where he left off and opened the 2nd round with a vicious head kick that quickly flattened Prochazka. After the Brazilian followed it up with a few more blows, Herb Dean stopped the fight and helped the dazed Prochazka get back on his feet.
The MMA world was stunned
Shortly after Pereira’s KO win, the internet exploded as many of his fellow UFC stars reacted to it. Among the biggest names who congratulated “Poatan” is none other than McGregor.
In a now-deleted series of posts on X, “Notorious” commended Pereira’s “left high kick” and went to lashed out at his situation, having forced to withdraw from UFC 303 due to a foot injury.

Apart from McGregor, Pereira’s other light heavyweight rival Jamahal Hill expressed his desire to have a rematch with him, while the other MMA fighters were still in awe of “Poatan’s” performance.

Pereira’s UFC 303 KO win over Prochazka saw him successfully defending his light heavyweight strap in two consecutive title fights. It is yet to be known if “Poatan” would stick to his plan of moving up to heavyweight and fight again one more time before the year ends.
