There will come a time when Melvin Guillard will be called ‘The Middle-Aged Assassin,’ but at the segment of time that we’re all inhabiting, Guillard retains his nickname as ‘The Young Assassin’ and it appears that he’s a little bit agitated at Jamie Varner for pulling out of his TUF 16 finale fight at the last minute due to illness.
Before a fight, Melvin Guillard usually predicts what he’s going to do and executes his game plan with extreme precision. If the world operated in the construct of a Mortal Kombat videogame, some ominous voice would appear and yell ‘flawless victory’ towards the end of his fights. Of course, all of this was interrupted this past weekend when Jamie Varner’s camp accused Melvin Guillard of greasing prior to the fight and then minutes later announced that Varner had to pull out of the fight due to uncontrolled vomiting. MMAInterviews caught up with the Young Assassin as he was munching down on sushi to discuss Varner’s seemingly erratic behavior and the rematch that’s scheduled for UFC 155 in Las Vegas.
