Matt Mitrione has climbed aboard the Frate Trane

With his win over Tim Hague, Matt Mitrione now has twice the wins Brock Lesnar had when Brock was offered a shot at the UFC Heavyweight title, and none of the losses. Matt Mitrione also played multiple seasons in the NFL whereas Brock was cut in the pre-season from his team. I’m not sure what I am getting at here, but its obvious the UFC would rather have a grimacing viking from Minnesota than a grinning Indiana boy as the face of their heaviest division, but maybe not for long.

After getting “fired” by Pat Barry earlier in the night, Mitrione came in to his bout against Tim Hague at UFC Fight for the Troops 2 in dominating fashion, displaying crisp strikes and extremely effective inside leg kicks courtesy of training at Roufussports. Meatheads impressive Dominick Cruz impression in front of (and for) the United States troops tonight might mean the Frate Trane list gets shuffled a bit to fit in his ample frame.
