Lloyd Irvin is a master we here at D/SG can really learn from. Sure, the dude can teach us a ton about BJJ technique. And, yeah, I bet he could coach us to victory in tournaments and teach us to avoid wussing out and excuse making. Those are pretty cool things. But, what I really want to know is how he so shamelessly and at the same time, masterfully, self promotes and markets his business. You gotta love that. America!
We’ve heard people knock Lloyd, and can sort of understand why. He’s bold in his claims that he’s the best, and he also uses some pretty aggressive marketing techniques (examples: here, here, here, here and here). But, we have to give the man credit for walking the walk – he’s a legit coach and athlete and his students/disciples win. But, yeah, he has like 23 websites and most of them won’t allow you exit very easily.
