Ok. Admit it. Kimbo was the equivalent of a kid holding a roman candle directly at your face. He brought MMA to the mainstream, sizzled their faces with blazing hot fire, then quickly burned out leaving everyone with third degree burns on their forehead. Even the naysayers looked at Kimbo in awe as he flattened out contestant after contestant after contestant after…then was dropped in the first minute by a replacement fighter. The impact of Kimbo getting served a first round KO led to total collapse of an entire mma organization, the beloved (well I loved it) EliteXC. Since then Strkeforce collected all the severed remains of fighter’s contracts but dude…Kimbo was the rise and fall of the EliteXC.
So he’s out for good. No more of Slice throwing on five ounce gloves. Its over. Instead, he’s going to try to rock the boxing world which is really deprived of heavyweights anyway. I still think Paul Buenetello and Kimbo need to go a couple rounds before he peaces out for good.
