“Borz” snapped back against his naysayers.

Khamzat Chimaev has been one of the hottest and most exciting prospects since debuting in 2020. In his rookie year, he demolished John Phillips, Rhys McKee, and Gerald Meerschaert, only getting touched once. It was a sight to behold, and he has been on everyone’s minds.

In his only fight in 2021, he rag-dolled top 15 welterweight Li Jingliang in less than four minutes.

While he has gotten mostly nothing but positivity across the board, there has been some criticism of his opponents thus far.

He got punched… I didn’t

Well, Chimaev had something to say about that. On the fourth episode of “Smesh Bros” being created by BlockAccess, Chimaev fired back.

Who did like, go in the cage, ten fights, ten finishes?” Chimaev said. “The guys tell like, ‘Oh, he didn’t fight this guy, he didn’t fight that guy,’ but the guys who’s the best guys – Jon Jones, his first four fights in UFC, he get the punch. I didn’t get the punch, bro.

“We don’t say, his first fights, he didn’t get the best ones – the guys, you know, like, super good guys. Nobody. Conor [McGregor] didn’t get that, crazy good guys in his first fights. Nobody. Khabib [Nurmagomedov] didn’t get crazy good guys. I just need the time.”

Chimaev will get a ‘crazy good guy’ next month when he faces Gilbert Burns at UFC 273 in Jacksonville, Florida. If he wins, a title shot could be his immediate future.
