Khabib Nurmagomedov thought about confronting the judge who scored Islam Makhachev vs. Dustin Poirier 2-2.

Khabib wants the judge’s name and location

Speaking to Daniel Cormier shortly after Makhachev submitted Poirier at UFC 302, “The Eagle” was undeniably shocked to have learned about a judge who had it 2-2 on his scorecard prior to the submission. Apparently, that judge was named Chris Lee.

“2-2, how? “One judge gave a lot of fights crazy, crazy numbers like, 50-45. Send me this guy’s name and location,” Nurmagomedov told DC in the video.

For Nurmagomedov, Poirier was a tough challenge but Makhachev still dominated him in that fight.

Islam may have retired Dustin

While one judge thought it was a close match, Poirier admitted he couldn’t tell how he was doing against Makhachev before he got submitted. What’s clear for now is that “The Diamond” is already thinking about retiring. Poirier opened up about finding a reason for him to still compete now that he has already about 50 fights on his resume.

The submission loss to Islam saw Poirier failing to win a title for the third time. On the other hand, Makhachev has now defended his lightweight strap successfully for three consecutive times.
