Khabib Nurmagomedov showed support for a Rizin FF fight after his loss.

This past weekend two of the most prominent organizations in MMA joined forces to put on a huge New Year’s Eve event. Bellator MMA and Rizin FF came together to pit some of their brightest stars against one another. Bellator brought over five fighters, including Patricio Freire, AJ McKee, Kyoji Horiguchi, Juan Archuleta, and Gadzhi Rabadanov.

The Bellator fighters came out on top in all bouts, ending the night 5-0. Amongst the wins was Dagestani fighter Rabadanov and he had his mentor and coach, former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov there to watch. Nurmagomedov has become one of the most respected coaches in the fight game since retiring and a couple of his mentees fight for Bellator. He has even gotten very close with Bellator president Scott Coker.

Khabib Nurmagomedov takes some time to comfort a fighter after his loss

After Nurmagomedov’s trainee Gadzhi Rabadanov defeated Rizin fighter Koji Takeda, Takeda was visually upset. Nurmagomedov took the time out to speak to him and raise him and his efforts up despite the loss. The moment was caught on film and shared by the Instagram account za.khabiba.

In the video, Nurmagomedov can be seen speaking with Takeda and raising his hand. Nurmagomedov has become a great coach following his retirement from competition and it is clear that he cares about his fighters and helping others.

Since Nurmagomedov became a mentor to his training partners they have been one of the most successful camps in all of MMA. Islam Makhachev has become UFC champion, Usman Nurmagomedov has become Bellator champion and now Rabadanov has moved to 19-4-2 and is showing that he will be a force in the Bellator lightweight division. The group of mixed martial artist training out of Dagestan, Russia could be at the beginning of an MMA takeover, with “The Eagle” at the helm.
