Just another reason why fighters should NEVER touch gloves at the beginning of a fight

Enough with the in-cage glove touching. Sure it looks cool, but the pre-fight fist bump is simply not a requisite in MMA. The world understands that you’re a sane human being that can reason with another person by engaging in non-violent physical contact before making really violent physical contact. However, closing the distance on your opponent at the beginning of a fight can only lead to horrible news if your opponent decides that the ceremonial fist bump is just not required.

Such was the case on May 25th 2013 in Malaysia as Russia’s Firuz Karomatov decided that he was done with the in-cage glove touching. Fifteen seconds is all it took for his opponent to realize that forcing the pre-fight fist bump was a really horrible idea. Check it out.
